Return to Squash update

HI everyone,

Sorry for not sending full updates sooner but I was enjoying myself too much :)

Firstly, I would just like to say a massive thank you for your patience and understanding throughout what has been a very difficult year. It has been fantastic to see the courts being used, in a limited capacity, over the last month. I simply can not wait to see the court usage back in full swing and to see all you wonderful people again.

As in my previous e-mail - in line with Government restriction easing - Sport England and England Squash have updated their guidance which has allowed for a full return to squash. However, there will still be certain guidance we need to follow until we reach the final step of the road map on the 21st June.

I will outline the main points below but for a full look at the new England Squash guidance, please visit the England Squash website
https://www.englandsquash.com/back-to-squash

Ways to Play

In line with England Squash guidance, the following ways to play are now permitted
- Adults and juniors from different households can play full court squash - e.g best of five games with tie breaks and singles and doubles.
- Up to four adults or juniors can get on court at any time allowing for doubles.
Spectators are allowed to return, but must not exceed a maximum of six people or two households as well as observing social distance rules and wear face coverings.

Club Rules

Away from the squash courts, members must continue to observe current UK Government advice on COVID-19 when attending the club.
- DO NOT come to the club if you or anyone in your household feels unwell.
- Arrive at the club wearing a face covering and whilst moving around the clubhouse.
- Maintain social distancing off court.
- Wash your hands before and after you play.
- As you exit, please sanitise your hands and then clean all touch points, most importantly the squash court door handles and surrounding area.

Showers

Unfortunately the club will not be opening the showers until the next stage of the Government road map, which will be June 21st at the earliest.

Bar

Possibly the most important news haha, the bar is now fully open with inside seating available. So get a court booked and then once you finish head up to the bar to relax.
The furniture has been set out to comply with all COVID-19 regulations and must not be moved and the club will still be operating table service only.

From this week, moving forward, the bar will be open at the following times.

Monday - Thursday - 5-9pm
Friday - 5-10.30pm
Saturday - 2-10.30pm
Sunday 12-5pm

I think that is everything!!

This week I will start planning some club events, such as fitness training, club nights, mini-leagues, etc and update you all once I have sorted.

If you have any questions or queries please do not hesitate to get in touch with me Breen_drew@hotmail.com

Thanks and have fun squashing
Breeny
