Liverpool Cricket Club - Squash
Aigburth Rd • Liverpool, Merseyside • L19 3QF

Hi everyone,
Thank you for your patience while we looked through the Government guidance and waited for the England Squash guidance to be released. We have no reviewed all the documents and are extremely happy to say that the squash courts will be open again from Wednesday 2nd December at 9am.
As with previous court openings, it is unfortunately not back to full squash as we know it. Hopefully if the rates conitnue to drop we could move into Tier 1 not long after Christmas and get back to some kind of normality.
Court Opening Times
To ensure the club is able to cope with the demand and keep the courts clean and safe, we will still be running a shortened schedule of bookings.
The squash courts will be open between 9am - 9pm (last booking 8pm).
Ways to Play
Thankfully, Liverpool has been placed in Tier 2 (Tier 3 guidance indicated no squash to be played), however we have still got a limit on the acitivites allowed to be played. For further visit the England Squash website (https://www.englandsquash.com/back-to-squash/guidance#tiers)
The permitted activities are :-
1. Solo Practice
2. Same household or support bubble - Can play full court games.
3. Squash Bubbles of up to 6 members - Can play sides, front v back or any other social distance pracitce - They can not play full court games.
4. One-to-one coaching for adults and juniors
5. Coach led junior activities
We will be monitoring usage closely and expect all members to adhere. Persistent misuse may result in memberships being suspended and/or the courts being shut again.
Squash Bubbles
The good news is that there is the option to play sides within our ’Squash Bubbles’.
What is a 'Squash Bubble’?
- Squash bubbles consist of a maximum of six players from different households.
- Players within a ’squash bubble’ are permitted to play sides, front v back or any other social distance pracitce - They can not play full court games.
How to form a Squash Bubble?
To form a Squash Bubble, you will need to e-mail me at breen_drew@hotmail.com and include the names of the (up to) six players within your proposed bubble.
Please note, you can only be part of one squash bubble and these will not be permitted to change for two weeks (as decided by the club management).
Once you have sent me details of your squash bubble, I will send a group e-mail to the bubble seeking written confirmation that you agree to stay in this squash bubble until further notice.
Booking a court
As we were doing previously, all bookings will continue to be made through me. To book a court:
1. Please check you have credit on your account before aksing for a court
2. E-mail breen_drew@hotmail.com with the date and time you would like.
3. State whether you would like a 40 minute court or an hour court.
4. You must either state whether you are booking the court for solo use or name your opponent.
5. I will then try and accommodate your bookings as best I can for the time you have requested.
6. As a reminder we must keep a 15 minute minimum gap between bookings.
7. Please try to book at least a day in advance as - I know it might shock you all - I do actually work so I might not see requests on the day if I am coaching a lot.
Club Hygiene
As we have already been implementing, please adhere to the following to keep everyone safe:
1. DO NOT come to the club if you or anyone in your household feels unwell.
2. Sanitise your hands upon entering the building.
3. Please refrain from handshakes or physical contact throughout your session.
4. You must stop playing after your allotted time to allow the court to ‘rest’ before the next booking.
5. At the end of your game please leave the court and squash corridor immediately.
6. As you exit, please sanitise your hands and then clean all touch points, most importantly the door handles and surrounding area.
Thanks
Breeny
