Squash Courts Opening - Update

Hi all,

In anticipation of us opening our booking system, I will be sending out a number of e-mails with our club guidelines and procedures that must be followed. For the avoidance of doubt, they are mandatory not optional.

My first e-mail is to outline the ‘ways to play’ that will be enforced with rigour once the courts are open.

Listed below are the only permitted forms of play. We will politely ask members to respect these guidelines. Myself, the squash committee and the club directors will be monitoring the situation and I have been informed by the main club committee that breaching the rules will result in the courts being closed until further Government Guidance is released.

I completely understand that everyone is eager to get back playing again (myself more than anyone, I can assure you) and some people will have a more relaxed approach to their risk of being infected. However, we need to be kind and respect club rules and understand that there will be people waiting to play that are far more cautious with their approach.

If we follow the guidelines now, and just appreciate the fact that after 3 months we can just get back on court, it won’t be long until we are back to squash and racketball as normal.

1. Members of the Same Household and Support Bubbles
These members have no restrictions and can play full court games and receive coaching.

2. Individual Members
These members can do solo practice or have coaching from a qualified and insured England Squash Coach.

3. Two Members from different households
This will be the category we will be monitoring closely.
These members can play a modified game of squash and/or racketball. The current England Squash guidance permits the game of ’sides’ (check their website for video https://www.englandsquash.com/backtosquash) , however further guidance will be released this week. Other acceptable forms of play will be front versus back or routines such as drop and drive, boast and drive, etc which will maintain social distancing.
If you have any questions about the different ways in which you can play, get in touch with me.

4. Up to Five Members of different households
Can be on court under coach led activities but limited to 2 players on a court at a time.

Finally, in order to access the club and use the courts, you must have an active playing membership. Entry to the clubhouse will be via your membership cards so anyone without an active membership will not be able to enter the club.

If you are unsure about your current membership status, please get in contact with our club secretary membership@liverpoolcricketclub.co.uk

I will be sending out booking procedures and updated safety measures hopefully tonight or tomorrow morning.

Thank you in advance for you patience and most importantly compliance with our current situation.

Thanks
Breeny
